The Mount Vernon Campus

Students at The George Washington University have the option of living at the Mount Vernon Campus. The campus is defined by its neo-classic brick residence halls in the style of its prestigious Foxhall neighborhood of northwest Washington, DC. Located just three miles from our Foggy Bottom campus, a continuous shuttle bus service runs between our two campuses.

Historically a women’s campus and home to our residential academic Women & Power program, students experience coed classes, social activities, dining hall, and recreational amenities. Attractive housing options include some single-room accommodations.

Students enjoy this campus with its playing fields, tennis courts, billiard room and "pub", and an outdoor swimming pool adjacent to the residence halls. Students also have individual Internet access from resident hall rooms and cable television in residence hall lounges. A highlight of this campus is a parking option at a nominal fee which allows students convenient week night and weekend access to student vehicles on campus. Current Foggy Bottom students frequently eat at the dining hall which offers a popular all-you-can-eat buffet.

The Mount Vernon campus hosts a number of academic residential programs and boasts of having small classes with the average class size of just over twenty students.
